The picturesque setting of Dragør beach hotel became the backdrop for the recent REFLACT summer research seminar, where the research group dedicated two inspiring days to workshops and work sessions. This was aimed at 1) crystalizing the disciplinary tradition of action research that we draw on individually, and 2) reflecting on the specific experiences and challenges we each encounter when we conduct action research in the context of digitalisation in connection with refugees, citizenship, democratic business, sustainability, and finance, respectively.

The team also began the work to develop a pamphlet publication outlining action research approaches in these contexts.

Last, but not least, REFLACT had the pleasure of hosting guest speaker Janne Gleerup from the Center for Aktionsforskning og Demokratisk Samfundsudvikling, a center committed to empowering critical action research for democratic societal change. Gleerup’s visit and methodologies definitely served as great inspiration and ground for discussion among the team, and we hope to stay connected with the Center in the future.
